Finally, something we’ve all been waiting for, reopening the tourism sector. After months of staying home, we are now free to go and travel again. Luckily, Uganda Tourism Board this morning launched a campaign dubbed Take On The Pearl in order to promote tourism as the sector regains stability.

The Take On The Pearl campaign will last eight weeks long. Each week, a lucky winner will be chosen to go on an all expenses paid trip. For the eight weeks, there will be eight different destinations across Uganda that will be toured.

“The pandemic has created an opportunity for us to look inwards and therefore travel our country. It is a delight to launch this domestic tourism campaign today as part of the efforts by the board to not only encourage domestic travel but also close the seasonality gap that has been created,” Lily Ajarova, CEO Uganda Tourism Board, said.

How to win the weekly free trip

Head over to Visit Uganda social media pages at the start of every week. You’ll notice a post with a picture of one of the eight tour destinations. You’ll be asked to comment with the name of the place, where it is located and why you want to go there. The comment with the highest engagement wins the free trip.

So go ahead and try your luck, you might be the lucky winner to Take On The Pearl. Follow the hashtag #TakeOnThePearl on all social media platforms to catch all the latest news about this tourism campaign.
